Acidity can cause obesity and diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic fatigue, osteoporosis, arthritis, bladder and kidney problems. So avoid coffee, smoking, but also artificial sweeteners and preservatives and excessive consumption of acidic foods. In an acidic state, the body takes important minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium from the bones and vital organs, in order to neutralize and expel the acid, which dangerously endangers your overall health.
Older people should pay special attention to maintaining the acid-base balance, because kidney function decreases with age, and thus their ability to eliminate excess acid through urine. It is extremely important for athletes not to disturb the pH value in the muscles, which occurs due to the accumulation of lactic acid, which is produced as a result of intense physical activities.

WHAT DOES THE BALANCE O F. pH VALUE MEAN?
As important as it is to establish a balance in life activities, it is even more important to maintain the balance that exists in our body. The measure of acidity is actually the pH value. In an acidic medium the pH is less than 7, when the pH is 7 it is a neutral medium, and in the basic medium the pH is greater than 7.
For optimal health, it is important that the balance is slightly shifted towards the base environment, so that our body is always slightly basic, ie slightly alkaline. It has been scientifically proven that healthy people have base pH values that are slightly higher than 7. Eg. the optimal pH value of blood is 7.36 to 7.44, and fluids in our cells 7.2, while it is desirable that the pH of urine be around 7.2, because acidic urine leads to the formation of sand and kidney stones.
